VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

ON THE DICKINSON ROUGHRIDER

COMMISSION

Be a part of our Team 355

The Dickinson Roughrider Commission is a non-profit organization in Dickinson, North Dakota composed of twenty-two dedicated adult men and women who volunteer their time, energy, and talents to plan and manage two large events yearly, "Roughrider Days" and the "Ronald McDonald Cabin Fever Benefit".

The largest event, Roughrider Days, is held in conjunction with the 4th of July and is the largest event in the area.  Roughrider Days events include a three-day PRCA rodeo, headliner concert, parade, demolition derby and fireworks display. The Ronald McDonald Cabin Fever Benefit, held annually in February, is the second event and is a benefit to raise funds for The Ronald McDonald House in Bismarck, North Dakota. In addition to these two events, the Roughrider Commission also assists the American Petroleum Institute (API) with their API Gumbo Cookoff each year in February.

The Roughrider Commission exists because of committed, hard working volunteers, who through their efforts in organizing events, enrich the lives of our citizens and our businesses.  Because the Roughrider Commission is a non-profit organization, the funding for these events comes primarily from business sponsorships and event ticket sales. The success of Roughrider Days and the Cabin Fever Benefit has a significant economic impact on the local economy. Thus, there is increasing awareness of the economic importance of volunteers.

Although being a volunteer on the Roughrider Commission is a serious undertaking that requires commitment and caring, it also offers limitless rewards. As a volunteer, you not only gain the satisfaction garnered from giving of yourself and your time to a worthwhile organization, you are also provided with opportunities for friendships, self-growth, personal enrichment, to share skills and talents, business networking and to have FUN!

If you or anyone you know is interested in being a volunteer on the Dickinson Roughrider Commission, please contact us for more information:  rrc@roughriderdaysfair.com.
