Concert Announcement 2022.png

Concert Headliner: Granger Smith
Also Appearing Special Guests: Lonestar
Opening: Mikele Buck

Location: Stark County Fairgrounds
Time: 7:00 p.m.

Gates Open: 6:00 p.m.

Granger Smith and Lonestar will be performing at the 2022 Roughrider Days Concert, Saturday, July 2nd!

Over the course of his groundbreaking career, Granger Smith has amassed a massive and rabid audience now known as "Yee Yee Nation" built through heavy touring and grassroots fan engagement. He now has a social media following exceeding eight and half million along with more than one billion online video views. Signed to BBR Music Group's Wheelhouse Records, Smith broke onto the national scene with Remington, an album that garnered him the No. 1 smash "Backroad Song." Smith was also awarded a BMI Country Award for writing, producing, publishing and performing "Backroad Song" and followed it with the Top Five hit, "If The Boot Fits." “Backroad Song” was one of the Top 10 Most Played Country singles of 2016 according to Mediabase and has been certified RIAA PLATINUM. His album When The Good Guys Win spawned the hit “Happens Like That” that has been certified RIAA GOLD. Not only has Granger stacked major accolades as an artist, but he also released his first-ever book If You’re City, If You’re Country, which immediately hit No. 1 on Amazon best-selling lists. Known as an artist but also for his alter ego, Earl Dibbles Jr., his family’s YouTube series “The Smiths” and his iconic outdoor apparel company, Yee Yee Apparel, Smith is a jack of all trades.

Not every musician has the opportunity to revisit and even potentially improve upon their biggest hits. But on the forthcoming TEN to 1 record, the award-winning band Lonestar— Dean Sams (keyboards, acoustic guitar, background vocals), Michael Britt (lead guitarist, background vocals), Keech Rainwater (drums) and Drew Womack (lead vocals, guitar)—are taking a fresh look at all 10 of their chart-topping country songs. Lonestar's roots date back to the early '90s, when Sams originally moved to Nashville from his native Texas intending to be a solo artist. However, after a few months, he realized that he was better suited for a band and recruited Britt and Rainwater. Lonestar found success out of the gate with their self-titled 1995 debut, which spawned the hit "Tequila Talkin'" along with "No News." Other honors soon followed: The band has won many of music’s top honors, including Academy Of Country Music awards for New Vocal Group in 1996, and Single and Song Of The Year in 2000, along with Humanitarian Of The Year in 2002. They also won Country Music Association's Vocal Group of the Year and International Artist Achievement award in 2001. All told, Lonestar have sold more than 10.5 million records since their formation. Lonestar looks toward a big career milestone—the band is celebrating 30 years in 2022—and the release of TEN to 1.

Mikele Buck was born in the hills of West Virginia, where his family was steeped in the traditional music of the Appalachians. He played drums in rock bands through most of his high school days and picked up guitar after graduation. His original songs are a blend of all his musical influences, including Steve Earle, Garth Brooks, Travis Tritt and Red-Dirt artists like Randy Rodgers Band and Reckless Kelly. After returning from the Iraq war in 2005, Mikele recorded his first CD in Nashville and established The Mikele Buck Band near Greenville NC. The band's popularity grew and soon they were drawing record crowds and national notoriety, opening up for major acts including: Jason Aldean, Joe Nichols, Jon Pardi, Brett Eldredge, Jason Micheal Carol, David Nail, The Cadillac Three, Hunter Hayes, Lady Antebellum, Reckless Kelly, Jerrod Niemann, Jimmie Allen, Parker McCollum, Confederate Railroad, Bucky Covington, Craig Campbell and Shenandoah. After competing on NBC’s The Voice in 2018, Mikele's song releases have been pouring through car speakers all over the US, with the crowd favorites 'With Me Now' and 'In Came You' at the helm.
